Salvagebid is an online platform that facilitates access to insurance auto auctions, allowing individuals to participate in online car auctions for salvage vehicles

Register for car auctions on our website by providing a government-issued photo ID and placing a refundable security deposit of $600 or 10% of your intended maximum bid (if over $6,000).

How much does it cost to join?

Joining Salvagebid requires no registration fee for our Guest Membership.

However, a refundable security deposit of $600 is necessary to participate in live bidding.

Guest Membership allows for one vehicle purchase up to $1000, with transaction fees of $299.

Upgrading to a Starter Membership for $35 annually permits purchasing one vehicle up to $2,000, includes participation in live auctions, with transaction fees of $299.

Premium Membership at $199 annually offers unlimited vehicle purchases, discounted transaction fees, and ten free vehicle history reports.

What types of plans does Salvagebid have?

Salvagebid offers several membership plans:

• Guest Membership: Free, allows bidding during Preliminary Bidding, one vehicle purchase up to $1,000, with transaction fees of $299.

• Starter Membership: $35/year, includes Preliminary and Live Auction participation, purchase of one vehicle up to $2,000, with transaction fees of $299.

• Premium Membership: $199/year, no bidding or purchase limits, reduced transaction fees (5% with a $250 minimum), a dedicated representative, and five free ClearVIN vehicle history reports.

• VIP Membership: $349/year, includes all Premium benefits plus 3% transaction fees (minimum $200), a 5% shipping discount, and ten free ClearVIN reports.

What is the fee to become a member of Salvagebid?

The Guest Membership is free but has limited features.

The Starter Membership costs $35 annually, providing beginner-level access to features and live auctions.

The Premium Membership costs $199 annually, offering access to live auctions, discounted fees, extra features, and a dedicated representative.

The VIP Membership costs $349 annually, providing all Premium benefits plus higher discounts on transaction fees, a 5% shipping discount, and ten free ClearVIN reports.

Why do I have to join Salvagebid to buy at IAA?

Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) typically require a dealer's license to participate.

Salvagebid provides access to these online car auctions for salvage vehicles without needing a dealer's license, simplifying the process for individual buyers.

What are the requirements to join Salvagebid?

To register for car auctions on Salvagebid, you must provide contact information, including a valid email address, and upload a government-issued photo ID. A refundable security deposit of $600 or 10% of your intended maximum bid (if over $6,000) is required to begin bidding

Do members need a dealer's license to bid/buy?

Members do not need a dealer's license to participate in online car auctions or salvage car auctions on Salvagebid. The platform allows individuals to bid on and purchase salvage vehicles without requiring a dealer's license.

Why do you need a copy of my ID?

A government-issued photo ID is required to verify your identity and ensure compliance with auction policies when participating in online car auctions for salvage vehicles.

How soon can I start bidding?

After completing the registration process, uploading your ID, and placing the necessary security deposit, you can immediately participate in online and salvage vehicle auctions.

Why does my Salvagebid account information have to match my driver's license?

Your Salvagebid account information has to match your Driver's License per DMV regulations on transferring ownership. Without this, we are not able to complete and send you the title.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at any time in “My Account.” To cancel, go to “Renewal Settings” in “My Account.”

Make sure the following selection is checked:

No, I don’t want my membership to be renewed automatically each year. Please cancel my subscription.

Click the “Save Information” button. Your membership renewal will be canceled, and you'll receive a confirmation email.

Please note that membership fees are non-refundable, as stated in our refund policy. Your account will be deactivated upon cancellation, and future subscription renewals will be terminated.
